DAY 01: International Arrival in Lima


Assistance at your arrival to Lima International Airport and transfer to your hotel. There you will receive a briefing on your tour; receive vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organisation of your Peru trip.


DAY 02: Lima / Cusco: Sightseeing Tour and Visit to Nearby Ruins


Early in the morning transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Remaining morning free to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness.

Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons.

Return to your hotel and get ready to enjoy a dinner in a typical restaurant with a folklore show where the musicians play their melodies with Andean instruments of beautiful sounds while typically dressed dancers will show you different ancient Peruvian dances. The most enthusiastic spectators will be invited to form part of the show.

DAY 03: Cusco: Sacred Valley of the Incas


Ollantaytambo, Cusco, Inca Trail, Machu Picchu and Manu, Tours in PeruEarly morning excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas.


Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced.

Enjoy the unique atmosphere during a typical buffet lunch.

In the afternoon, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower Jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this strategic military, religious, and agricultural centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. Late afternoon return to your hotel for overnight.


Evening free. We suggest strolling around the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying a delicious Pisco Sour in some of the many pubs around the Square.

DAY 04: Cusco / Machu Picchu - Inca Trail (Cusco - Piscacucho - Wayllabamba)


At approximately 6:30 am, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you by bus to the km 82 where you will arrive at approx. 10:30 am. Here you will meet the team that will join you during the trek, such as the porters, camp assistants and cooks. You will begin the walk, the first day is quite easy and during the first kilometres you will have a beautiful view of the snow peaked Veronica Mountain, walking alongside the Vilcanota River until you arrive at the Archaeological Complex of Patallacta, where you will have lunch and gain energy to reach Huayllabamba, where the first camp is set up.

DAY 05: Inca Trail (Wayllabamba - Warmiwañusca - Pacaymayo)


After breakfast, the hardest part of the trail begins, with a steep ascent, followed by 3 hours walking until reaching the first step, called Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman), up to 4200 m.a.s.l. approximately. You will not only enjoy incredible panoramic views from here but you will also have the satisfaction to have reached the top. After lunch in Vizcachayoc we will descend towards Pacaymayo (3500 m.a.s.l.) for dinner and camp.

DAY 06: Inca Trail (Pacaymayo - Phuya Patamarka - Wiñay Huayna)


After breakfast the ascent will begin until the second most important step of the route, up to 3900 m.a.s.l., where you will enjoy a guided visit to the Archaeological Complex Runkurakay and the Inca Citadel of Sayacmarca (3600 m.a.s.l.). Lunch in Chaqquicocha. Then, you will continue walking towards Phuya Patamarka (Town in the Clouds), another important archaeological monument. After a brief rest , we will continue walking until arriving at Wiñay Huayna (Always Young), for a guided visit to this spectacularly located archaeological complex . Dinner and overnight in the camp. Note: The above are the regular camp sites according to the circuit operated by Enjoy Peru, however, these can vary according to dispositions levied by the Machu Picchu Management Unit without previous warning, but which will not affect the itinerary.

DAY 07: Wiñay Huayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco


After breakfast (05:00 approx.), start walking for one hour by the forest until the Inti Punku (Door of the Sun), known as the front door to Machu Picchu, from where we will be able to have an impressive panoramic view of the Inca Citadel. Machu Picchu, Cusco, Inca Trail, Machu Picchu and Manu, Tours in PeruUpon arrival to Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour of the ruins and monuments, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Free time to stroll around the Citadel and then meet the rest of the group to be transferred by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon return to Cusco by train. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel.


Evening free. We recommend to dine out at any of Cusco's downtown restaurants and stroll by the Main Square.

DAY 09: Cusco - San Pedro


Departure from the City of Cusco very early in the morning in one of our vehicles specially equipped for the route. We will go across interesting inter-Andean valleys and picturesque peasant communities, visiting the Chullpas (Pre-Inca tombs) of Ninamarca. At noon we will drive through Paucartambo, a typical colonial town of much importance in those days and which still keeps its colonial style. Continuing with our trip we will climb up to the Acjanacu Pass, at 3,850 meters above sea level. From here we will descend going through the cloud forest, a zone rich in endemic species such as the spectacled bear, the cock of the rock, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc. among others; we will spend the night comfortably installed on our platform in open air called "San Pedro".

DAY 10: Manu: Cloud Forest


Very early we will be able to appreciate the interesting courtship dance of the cock of the rock, Peru’s national bird, which has a flashy plumage of an intense red-orange color, comfortably installed on an observation platform called "Lek". After breakfast we will continue on our bus, going across the upper forest until reaching the locality of Pilcopata, to then continue towards the Port of Atalaya (700 meters above sea level), located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River, where our boat with outboard motor is waiting for us; we will get on board along with the necessary equipment for the trip, thus initiating our descent through the river, where we will be able to watch the huge diversity of existing birds, such as herons, vultures, cormorants, etc. until reaching the private Erika Reserve, where we will spend the next two nights. Brief reconnaissance walk through the surroundings.

DAY 11: Manu: Hiking through the forest


Breakfast. The lodge is located in the transitional zone between the upper and the lower forest (600 - 1,550 meters above sea level); the different altitudes give place to diverse habitats, explaining in this way the huge diversity of wildlife in the area. Right after breakfast we will set off on hikes along its interesting trails where the guide will teach us about the mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, medicinal plants, etc. and in the afternoon we visit a small lagoon to watch caimans, hoatzins (a prehistoric bird), etc. Brief nocturnal walk and last night in this amazing Amazon forest.

DAY 12: Manu / Cusco


After having breakfast we will hike for 30 minutes approximately, watching and talking about the sensitive plants, helicons, fruit plantations, etc. we will get on board a motorboat to navigate for a short while across the Alto Madre de Dios River bound for the Port of Atalaya, from where we will return to the City of Cusco by bus, arriving in the night.

DAY 13: Cusco/Lima


At the appropriate hour transfer to the Cusco Airport for your flight to Lima. In lima you will be transferred to your hotel.

Peru is located on the central west coast of South America. Its neighboring countries are: Ecuador and Colombia to the N; Chile to the S; Brazil and Bolivia to the E; and the Pacific Ocean to the W. It is the third largest country in South America, with a surface area of 1 285 215,6 km2 (larger than France, Spain, and Germany combined) distributed approximately in the following manner: 12% coastal territory, 28% Andean highlands and 60% Amazon jungle. Its capital, Lima, is located in the coastal area, where the country's greatest economic activities take place.


Peruvian time is five hours past Greenwich Mean Time and is similar to Eastern Standard Time in the United States (except when the U.S. goes on daylight savings time from April to October). In reference to other cities, when it is noon in Peru, it is:


Being such a geographically diverse country within the tropical belt, the weather in Peru is determined both by altitude and season. However, it also means that there is almost invariably sunshine somewhere in Peru ! Below is a summary of the weather conditions you can expect to find in each different region of the country at different times of the year.


Northern region: warm year-round with highs of up to 35°C in the summer.

Central and southern regions: two well-defined seasons, winter between April and October, and summer between November and March.


This region has two seasons, dry season between April and rainy season between November and March.

High rainforest (over 2,300 feet asl): has a temperate, subtropical climate with abundant rainfall.




Cusco city has a temperate climate with year round temperatures fluctuating between14º - 16ºC and warm days and cold nights.

Rainy season in Cusco is from December to March. Machu Picchu has a semi-tropical climate, with warm, humid days and cold nights.

Rainy season in Machu Picchu is from November to April. Although you can go trekking during the months of April to October, the best months for visiting Machu Picchu are May and June.

AIRPORT - luggage regulations


Liquids must be carried in containers whose capacity can not exceed of 100 ml (or its equivalent in other volumetric units, such as liquid ounces for instance). No liquids will be allowed in containers of more capacity than the said 100 ml, even if the container is not completely full.

The containers must be placed in reclosable plastic bags with a maximum capacity of 1 liter. The containers must fit effortlessly in the transparent plastic bag, which must be perfectly sealed.

The plastic bag must be presented at the inspection post for its visual examination. Only one plastic bag per passenger can be allowed.


Exceptions must be made in case of medications, milk and baby food, as well as in case of passengers who require a special diet. There must be the appropriate means in place to verify the nature of these liquids.

Likewise, exceptions must be made regarding liquids purchased in the duty free shops at the airport or on board an aircraft, provided that these liquids are packed in a sealed plastic container foolproof against undue manipulations, and that a satisfactory proof (receipt) is produced showing that the article was acquired at the airport’s duty free shops, or aboard an aircraft on the traveling day(s) for passengers leaving an airport or being there on transit.

The Nuevo sol its symbol is S/. in circulation are bills of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 nuevos soles; coins of 1, 2, and 5 nuevos soles; and coins of 5, 10, 20 and 50 céntimos of a nuevo sol. US$ are widely accepted.

Power voltage

In Peru is 220 Volts AC, 60 Hz. Most modern electrical appliances do not need adapters since they will accept both 110 as well as 220 AC voltages. Please make sure to check the voltage options of those artefacts you intend to take with you during your trip, such as hair dryers, battery chargers, notebooks and lap tops, video cameras, etc. Most of these do not usually need a special adapter, but it is important that you make sure of that before leaving your country of origin in order not to have to buy special 110 V / 220 V AC adapters, which, however, can be found in the local market here in Peru.




Full details of the latest health requirements should be obtained from an authorized medical source, such as your doctor. There are no mandatory health requirements for Peru.Because you are visiting Andean areas, don't forget to take precautions to avoid altitude sickness. Be sure to try hot tea or infusion of coca leaves on your arrival in the altitude; during your first day move slowly and eat lightly.
