Cusco City Tour Half Day

Cusco is onsidered as the main capital of the Incas culture. The history, tradition and reality indicate that the Inca city had the shape of a Puma or Mountain Lion (with the Felis color). A feline  was considered as the special deity among the Quechuas.  As an evidence of this, the name of the street Pumakurko has been maintained, and it represents the “Puma’s backbone”. The Pumaqchupan district or the “Puma’s Tail” can be found in the junction of the Saphi (“Root”) river and the Tullumayu (“Bone River” or “Thin River”). These junctions are located in frontvof the Savoy Hotel. Next to that, the head of the puma is located in Saqsayhuaman, whose name derives from “huaman del saqsa” or “marbled head”. Cusco is a city with a rich cultural and historical heritage.
